About this scrapbook page:
Mabel Love (16 October 1874 – 15 May 1953), was a British dancer and stage actress. She was considered to be one of the great stage beauties of her age, and her career spanned late Victorian era and Edwardian period. When photographer Frank Foulsham had the idea of selling the images of actresses on postcards, Love proved to be a popular subject leading one writer to christen her "the pretty girl of the postcard". (In 1894,Winston Churchill wrote to her asking for a signed photograph.)

What Do I Care? (poem by Sara Teasdale)
What do I care, in the dreams and the languor of spring,That my songs do not show me at all?For they are a fragrance, and I am a flint and a fire,I am an answer, they are only a call. But what do I care, for love will be over so soon,Let my heart have its say and my mind stand idly by,For my mind is proud and strong enough to be silent,It is my heart that makes my songs, not I.
