Carole Lombard was born in Indiana in 1908.Her mother took Carole to L.A to start a new life.Carole was signed at the age of 12 for a film.She quit school at 15 to pursue her dream.In 1925,she was signed to a contract with Century Fox and appeared in a number of Westerns and shorts.In 1926,she was seriously injured in an automobile accident which left the left side of her face scarred.Carole married W.Powell in 1931. The marriage lasted 2 years.She was one of the top stars at Paramount Studios,

earning $35,000/week in her heyday.In her personal life,she was noted for her coarse language,hilarious practical jokes,lavish parties,and a genuine concern for people.She had a fabled relationship with Clark Gable and became his wife in 1939.They resided in the San Fernando Valley.Carole went home to Indiana for a War Bond rally.On the return flight, January 16,1942,Carole,her mother,and twenty other people perished when their plane went down outside of Las Vegas.She was 33.
