Tonight as I watched the CMA Award Show I was in tears. Then I looked up the song I heard on You Tube and cried again! The song: Tim McGraw’s “If you’re reading this”. After I wiped away my tears for the second time I came up with this challenge. I feel we, as a country, get so caught up in our everyday lives that unless we have a loved one fighting in the war, we forget there are soldiers right this very second fighting for the freedoms we are so accustom to. Tonight as we lay warm and safe in our beds there is a wife crying in her bed for the husband so far from home who is standing watch with his gun. Tonight as our children sleep with sweet dreams of Christmas going thru their heads - another mother doesn’t even know if her child is alive. Tonight as we kiss our loved ones goodnight - there is a soldier that hasn’t been home to feel their loved ones in their arms in a very long time.
Challenge Requirements:
So this is the challenge - make a Christmas Card/Thank You Card for our soldiers who will spend yet another Christmas without their families and loved ones. Let them know we have not forgotten that they are still putting their lives on the line every day and night and let them know we love them for it and appreciate the sacrifice they make.
Make as many as you can.
I’m not very internet savvy so I’m hoping some of you here know how to post the pages for our soldiers to see.
Added note - please remember these are to be Christmas Cards and or Thank you notes - We have tributes in other challenges - this one is to stay happy and upbeat to encourage our soldiers while away from home this holiday season.
