Quotes by children
When I was teaching preschool, I was singing "I'm gettin nuttin fore Christmas" and one of my four year old girls said, "Yes you are Ms. Brenda, cause Santa brings gifts to little people and old people, we are little and you are old, so we all get something."
Do you have a favorite quote from a child you would share?

Yes, Suetta...from my Granddaughter. We were sitting in the back seat of the car, her mom was driving, we were returning from a Christmas trip to the mall to see Santa. The little girl looked at me, held my face in her hands, and said "Gramma? Why does your face have little cracks in it?"

My mother was a life-long smoker and her skin was deeply seamed from both age and abuses. My daughter started tracing her finger down the deep creases in mom's face and finally she asked, "Grammy, do those hurt?"
LOL My mother answered, "No, dear, except when someone asks about them!"

So her son age 3 ask about his sister age 2. This year my 6 year old grandson made 2 list for chistmas. One was santa's list, the other was grandma's list. I asked him why the 2 list he said because mommy said santa doesn't have much money this year.So he put the cheaper things on santa's list, because he knows santa's does'nt have much money this because daddy is not working and monny has to buy for 2 kids this year,so he put the things that cost more on grandma's list,so monny wouldn't fell bad that she doesn't have alot of money for santa this year.

yesterday my son Adam was getting out of the car, I had just picked him up from school, he just out of the blue says " I love life, but I cant wait to go to heaven!" Now we do not attend church, I dont even think he has ever been to church, (Iknow... no good)but I often reference heaven because both my parents are gone now, and his paternal grandparents as well, so whenever he mentions his grands, I always tell him they are in heaven, and describe my perception of it, so I guess it impressed him. The funny thing is that we werent even talking about anything related to the subject when he just blurted this out, so it really made me happy, that he says such profound things at such a young age. (soon to be 6).

Like the little boy who's only phrase at 18 months was "It's a BALL!" He loved them too! And the other little boy who didn't speak much, but when his mom would come to pick him up, he'd say "Doh-DOH! All you need in life is a friend who has chocolate - Sophie Diehl - Age 11

Sometimes you just have to take a nap and get over it - Age 8

You know it was a good day if you did not hit or bite anyone - Age 4

You can submit quotes to kidquotes@gmail.com. They do include the childs name and age. You will have to let us know if you get a quote published.

my son and I had spent a few hours shopping one day, and on the way home we decided to go through the drive through at McDonalds. He was about 3.
He was in the backseat, eating his happy meal when all of a sudden, in a disgusted voice, he said "Im not eating these fries!" when I asked why.. he exclaimed.. "there is no sauce on them"
I was very confused by this, because McDonalds does not put sauce on their fries.
Upon further inspection, I noticed the fries looked to be very dry, probably about an hour old by the time we got them.. the sauce he was referring to was the heavy grease that usually accompanies McDonalds french fries :)

I ATE MY BOOOOGIIIIEEEEEE. then i heard mom saying 'stop that! STOP THAT KEVIN!' and he yelled really loud again 'i AAAAAAAAAATTTEEE ITTTTTTTTTT'. i told her it was her own darn fault for making such a fuss about it cos he never said (or yelled) that around me lol

My son has let loose some pearls of wisdom over the last 7 years. At four years old i I asked him where he was going and he told me "I am going to find my destiny!".
Last year he was really angry at me because I had told him off and in a very ominous tone he said, " One day you will pay for everything you have done"...I didn't know whether to laugh or growl at him!
Just recently we were talking about endangered animals in the car ( inspired by McDonalds latest Happy Meal toy). He asked me which animals were endangered and during the list I mentioned that lots of frog species were. He promptly told me that he knew why frogs were endangered...because people like digesting them. When I enquired what he meant, he said " You know, they like to cut them open and see what is inside them" Yep, he meant disecting LOL

Today I asked Adam if he wanted a ham and cheese sandwich for lunch, (it is cold outside)he says "I want something hot", so I say" how about a grilled cheese and a bowl of tomato soup?" then he says "okay, but could you take the tomatoes out?" I died laughing.

today I asked Adam how his day at school was? Then I asked he his class went outside to play? He said yes, then I asked who he played with, when he named several girls, then he named Madison, I said, "Oh thats your girlfriend right?" He got this shy smirk on his face, and said, "NO!.... NOT YET!!!" I cracked up laughing, and he laughed with me, and I said "way to be positive".:)

My five year old grandaughter and I were scrapping tonight and she decided she wanted me to make her a necklace instead. I told her I did not have any beads so I proceeded to make a long ribbon and tie bow in the middle. I tied it around her neck. She looked in the mirror and said, "Nanny, I love you and I apprecite it, but I don't like it" She wanted beads.

Our five year old granddaughter wanted to go see the baby goats that had just been born the day before, When she and by husband got out to the pen, the twins were nursing. Their little tails going 90 miles and hour. She ask why and he told her that was showing they were really getting theier milk. She stood there for a second and then looked up at him and said, "I love milk, but my tail doesn't wiggle."

I was talking to Adam about not ever smoking, because it was so horrible for you. He said Im not mom, what brought that up? I had passed a guy who was smoking.... I then said people blame the addiction, they have to want to quit (his dad) I then said, if I need to lose weight and I eat chocolate cake, who do I blame Me, or the cake? He said oh "the chocolate cake" its too delicious!!!!! :)

Today I told Adam " I love you so much, I want to marry someone really good, who will love you as much as I do, and treat you good". He says " I will mom, where do you meet them?" I said, anywhere, a library, a coffee shop, the grocery store, lots of places." He says " yes, then I will go to 'every kiss begins with K' and buy a ring, then give it to her, I said "Awww, thats so sweet, and romantic.". He says "yes, even better at a restaurant, with dim lights". LOL I laughed and said your so sweet.
