Help with overlays
Help! I am still in a learning curve here and just tried to use an "overlay" (that I downloaded from another website) in the scrapbook flair software. If I add the overlay as a "background" it looks fine, but when I add it as an "overlay" it is too big and the colors are distorted. I am thinking I need to resize and change resolutions of the overlay but do not know how. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Thanx!

Good Morning, I do not believe overlays will work properly in the Scrapbook Flair software. Some, that are just borders might work, but there is no capability to blend your layers in the software. Most overlays tend to lose their transparency also. If you have any of the free software, such as Gimp or Paint.Net, you might be able to use the overlay in those softwares, then transfer it back to your Scrapbook Flair project. I'm sorry. Maybe someone else is aware of a way to do this properly in the Flair software. Good Luck!! Maggie

Good Morning, there is a Group that is for Gimp Users....They can probably give you some help, if you decide to give it a try. If you wish to download and try Paint.Net you can get it here:

In gimp if the OL, or image is a jpeg and I want a png I add a transparent layer, merge it down onto the jpeg layer and then select by color the white (usually white or what ever BG color you don't want in the image), click edit and cut. Sometimes It made need some "clean up" so I magnify the layer and then with the eraser tool I remove the pixels I don't want, or keep selecting by color and cutting. I immediate save that layer as a png file for future use and then continue on with my page. hope this helps.
