Digital scrapbook artist 2
Does anybody use this software and if so can you tell me about it. Ease of use? What kind of photo effects it has? Also, are they no longer making the program? It isn't listed on Serifs website, but it is available in stores.
Thanks

They've upgraded to CraftArtist Platinum. Yes it's great Scrapbooking software. You can download a free Compact version which is fully workable, just missing some of the niceties. They even have free kits to download while you test it. It will not do all the stuff that Elements and PSP will do, but it's pretty good. I actually think it's better than Scrapbook Max.

Thanks ladies. I would love to get Elements 9 but it's a bit pricey for me plus not sure if I could learn it. LOL! Does DSA2 have effects and can you use all those things like brushes, tubes, etc?

It has brushes, but not tubes. The brushes don't work exactly like they do in elements though.

I used DSA2, now Craft Artist. Love them both (even with the current glitches the new software has). I also use PSE9, paint.net, and FotoSketcher. I think DSA2/Craft Artist has a much friendlier user interface for creating a scrapbook page than PSE or anything like that - you can create "kits" which include all the elements you'd download as a freebie kit so you can pull the entire kit in at once at any point in time, it's got some photo editing capability, some photo effects capability, nifty brushes (but their kind of brushes, not like PSE, as MaggieM said), and all kinds of other stuff.

I've done graphics work for a million years (ok, like, 15 years) and I cannot imagine using PSE, PSP, or any program like that to create pages now that I use DSA2/Craft Artist.

Download CA Compact and try it - and ask any of us who use the software any questions you've got!

Oh, I should say, I use PSE9, paint.net and FotoSketcher to add additional effects to my images, and occasionally, for extraction. Mostly, I use Craft Artist for that.

Thanks, I found DSA2 for like 25 bucks, but didn't buy it. Maybe I will download the trial and give it a try!

Belleza03, if you go to Daisytrail's forums and poke through there (especially the Digikit forum), you'll find a lot of members who offer kits for DSA2 and CAP (including Craftypoly!).

I love CAP (I started with DSA and upgraded each time a new program came out)... didn't go MAC because of it (only works on PC) ... PSE seems not to be user friendly. Most kits are compatible with it.
