External Drives
I just want everyone to know that uses external drives that if that dies...you will lose everything. Been there twice now and learned better to just take the time to make DVD's of your kits. I just paid for another external drive thur Best Buy to back up my whole computer. I do not keep it plugged in now. Will only add files as I grow but still I don't want to trust that if that should die as mine has in the past. The best way...the long way...is to make DVD's to keep and never lose your kits. I know we all spend lots of money on kits and don't want you to lose them, I feel better to invest in DVD's. Hugs

Yes I'm relying on externals for most - have 1.5 TB. I also have some DVDs but not nearly enough will copy more as soon as I can. A timely reminder Max thanks.

Thanx Maxi, I have 2 externals, 1 is plugged in all the time, the other not!
I find discs are slow to load, cant fit much on them and after a while, they can stuff up too, gosh, its tricky! wondering if a flash would help...several flashes!

Memory sticks are far better than CD's and hold far more information. I back up all my photos and SBF pages on them as well as having them on an external hard drive. Im getting another just for kits as they are on my external as well

When you use external drives (and I do), large or small (like the little jump drives) always, always remember to ask your computer permission to remove this hardware. Its a little green icon on the bottom right of your task bar. It will prevent a lot of damage. Unplug your external drives when you are having a storm, also. I just plug them in when I need to transfer something.
