| About this scrapbook page: |
Cultures Challenge. The Siksika Nation is part of the Blackfoot Nation, which is predominantly found in Alberta and Montana. Siksika is about 2 hours from where I live. It is rumored that one of the most famous Blackfoot (Crowfoot) is buried there, but I could not find info on that. Deerfoot was a runner that helped deliver messages between Alberta and Montana (on foot!), and is also Crowfoot's nephew. Siksika translates to black foot or back feet.

The losses these people suffered at the hands of new settlers is a dark red smear on Canada's historical map. ** More info: http://www.albertasource.ca/treaty7/traditional/siksika_overview.html
