Title: STRUGGLE
Post Text Life has always been a struggle, Ever since I was a child. We ate mostly beans and 'tators, Which mother served with a smile. We never had much money, But we were wealthy with bunches of Love, And we had our share of blessings, Sent from our Father up above. Daddy was a hard worker, We usually lived on a farm. Mother kept the house clean, Even when it was as cold as a barn. My hair was always curled, Our clothes were ironed and neat. On week-ends we would have company, With a smile one their faces, ready to eat. And now it is still a struggle For my husband and me. But there is always food on the table, For which we are thankful as can be. By Louise Alley Dec. 16, 1999
When our daughter was killed in a car wreck in 1996, I started writing poems, a type of therapy I suppose. Well actually I had written a few before then, but many I didn't think to keep and boy am I sorry about that now. Any way I decided to post them here to share.
