How to make your own embellishments?

I use Paint Shop Pro and can do about anything with it, but I tried for hours the other day to figure out what format to save the embellishments as. I tried PNG and GIF and that would make them transparent but only part of the image would show up when I tried to use it. Anyone know if maybe the image that I was trying to use was too big or what the problem might be? Also, what format is the templates in? On my puter it just says "PSP image" but not the file extension. I'm very frustrated as I would love to try using more of my own graphics.

I just went into windows explorer and navigated to the C:\Program Files\Aurora Digital Imaging\Scrapbook Flair\Embellishments and guess what all the embellishments are in psd format. Save your creations as photoshop files.

When I try to save them as PSD files they are not transparent (the background). I don't have photoshop but can save as a psd in Paint Shop Pro- do you think this may be what is causing the problem?

I'm having the same problem. I have PSP and can save in .psd but the background is not transparent when placed on the page even though the image when sen in psp has a transparent background. One thing I did notice however when I looked at the layer history. It said bitmap. So going to try and experiment with that ext and let you all know what happens :o)

I finally got it working ... yay. I had to go into "Run Optimizer" via "Options" and set the transparency from there. Got it to work with .gif and .png ....... still cant get it to work with .psd for some reason. Now I can make my own graphics and I'm a very happy bunny :o)
