I married my best friend in July 2007. With a love for tradition as well as antiques, we chose to incorporate the ancient wedding practice of handfasting into our ceremony. (This is where the phrase "tie the knot" stems from). As we are both of Irish heritage, our cord colors were chosen from our family crest/tartans. The knotted cords now hang over our wedding photo with other momentos from the day :-)
