I never knew that Alabama also has a long tradition of celebrating Mardi Gras! Well, we're not in Mobile, but there was a local Mardi Gras celebration so we just had to attend. I've never been to one at all before. There was a small parade, the throwing of the beads and candy, and of course the moon pies. It was mighty cold in February but the Cajun Steamer had some outdoor heating and were of course serving drinks to help warm the soul!
