Icon for my next Natural World challenge - trees.
This magnificent tree is said to be nearly 2000yrs old. It is a New Zealand Kauri.
We have been to the Waipoua Forest where Tane grows but my photos didn't do it justice so this from the net.
The bird is our native wood pigeon or Kereru (Maori name)found in the NZ forests.
These Kauri trees can grow anywhere from 30m to 60m tall and have a radius of 3m-7m
