Grandson and his catch this is spoonbill catfish
Spoonbill Catfish (Polyodon spathula) The spoonbill catfish, also known as the paddle fish, is one of most ancient fish around. They are also one of the oddest looking fish species. Spoonbill catfish are not actually catfish at all as the name implies. Spoonbill Catfish were once endangered but are making a comeback.

Just got a TX from TJ he said this fish was a 37 pounder caught in NE Oklahoma on Grand River..Just a lil info I found interesting I had no idea there was anything like this In Oklahoma..Go figure..

It could be a Needlefish or a Longnose gar or, like Madeline suggested - a swordfish. In any case, that is one BIG catch and it must have been quite a job pulling it in. Fantastic photo that you have wonderfully framed and embellished for this challenge Betty!!!!!!
