Today's Witch Creek & Harris fires are predicted to break that record. 14000 acres so far to the witch creek fire, 1 death, 20+ injuries and counting.

thank you for you're lovely comments. The current news is horrific to say the least. Over 400k square miles burnt, 1000's of homes & businesses lost, over 500k people evacuated from their homes. Some have been able to return home today but it's still burning so the counts continue.
