The wreaths represent the Solar Qurarters and Cross Quarters; There are 13 moons, 12 months on the sun's rays, the elements are represented by tarot suits on the compass points, and the Seasons in the Corners; and the zodiac signs each have a tile.

For me, the measureing of cycles of time passing is a means of finding one's place in the broad 'universe'.
