She had a remarkable, sometimes biting, humor about her, as is exhibited in the column you included. She did help many people, I'm sure. (I've read that if she ever received a letter from someone that struck her as being on the verge of suicide, she would contact them by phone!!! May have saved a life or two along the way.)
