My uncles fought in WWII. My father's older brother did not return. He was killed in France on December 24 - I'm not sure of the year - either 1944 or 1945. My other uncles returned - but never forgot.
The photo of my uncle killed in action is from a slide I scanned and his picture was hanging on the wall in the living room - so it's a scanned picture of a picture!!

I saw this in "My Challenge Pages group"...thank you for helping us to remember why we are able to celebrate our Independence Day...it's sobering to think what memories those who returned have to bear, we get a glimpse in the photo at the bottom of your beautiful page... definitely 10+10cps
