About this scrapbook page: |
Joseph Severn's portraits of John Keats used for this page. Severn was a close friend of the poet and was with him at his death. The words are a short extract from Keats' poem Ode to a Nightingale & read: "Darkling I listen; and, for many a time I have been half in love with easeful Death. Call’d him soft names in many a mused rhyme. To take into the air my quiet breath;" Thanks for looking & for your lovely comments, so much appreciated x
